Hook Common and Bartley Heath nature reserve
This Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust nature reserve is a network of over 300 acres of heathland and woodland. They are a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), designated mainly for the high quality wet heathland plant community present. Hardy native breeds of cattle or ponies are used to help manage the heathland to keep it suitable for the wildlife that lives there such as marsh gentian. The Trust manage the nature reserve due to its high importance for nature conservation and for the benefit of wildlife, Please can all visitors take care when walking on the reserve, cycles and other recreational activities are not allowed on the site.
